Large Cedar Keepsake Box

Our handmade Large Cedar Keepsake Box  is manufactured using traditional assembly methods in North Carolina by the Taylorsville Crate Co. We carefully cut, finish, and join every decorative wooden box drawing on over 30 years experience in the case and crate making craft.

We use 100%  aromatic cedar for this cedar chest and finish with a clear lacquer coat on the outside, the natural reddish golden hue of the grain really shines.  We do not finish the inside to preserve the aroma and its moth repellent qualities.

Taylorsville Crate has made cases and crates for over 30 years. Every chest is unique, with variations in finish color and texture. All of our products share an attention to detail and high standards for the quality of our materials and assembly. 

The sides of this chest are joined using a haunched box joint. A box joint means the ends of the wood pieces are interleaved almost like dove tails. The wooden box with hinged lid is then pin nailed for a super strong construction. The box joint also adds a nice decorative accent to the piece.

The chest itself makes a great decorating accent as well as a useful storage space.

The leather handles and iron hardware add handsome design elements for rustic, farmhouse, and transitional interiors. This wooden chest works for bath organization, as a keepsake box, wooden memory box, or treasure chest.
